The Tarot Boutique Presents: Bring Out Your Decks!

My personal Canva creation, boutique shop with flag and tarot sign

To be a good Tarot reader, you need a trusty deck that really speaks to you. But have you checked into how many decks there are these days? Zoinks! With so many choices, how do you ever find your very own BFF deck?

After a long, pandemic-imposed hiatus, The Tarot Boutique zooms back to life in November, with a highly participative online workshop that is all about our beloved decks – how to choose them, care for them, and make friends with them. Most of all, we’ll discover how each has its own unique “voice” that can broaden our understanding and enrich our readings.

Learn what you need, in order to select a deck that brings the Tarot to life for you, while probably saving yourself a ton of trial and error money, too!

Designed to be user friendly for fairly new to intermediate Tarot folks, this class is especially helpful if you haven’t quite settled on your true love (or two, or five).

It is also a fascinating deep-dive even if you have, but! I can’t promise you a lifetime of Tarot deck monogamy afterwards. So many decks! So much deliciousness!

We’ll be exploring things like – how does the Waite-Smith “Queen of Pentacles” differ from the Osho Zen Tarot’s “Flowering,” or the Motherpeace “Priestess of Discs?” Why does it matter? How many different names can you think of for the 13th Triumph card? And how might all this affect a reading?

Bring your favorite decks if you have ‘em, and I’ll share a few of mine, as we explore how to choose and cultivate your expertise with your decks, plus the “Comparative Tarot” method (first introduced by Tarot expert Valerie Sim) as a way to deepen your practice.

Sign up! Invite your friends! And get ready to enjoy an instructive, congenial afternoon, as we play with and share our love of our decks together!

    • Live, online via Zoom (Sorry, no recording. Be there or be square!)
    • From 1-5:30pm (Eastern time) –  includes several stretch breaks, plus plenty of “breakout” discussion time to avoid Zoom fatigue.
    • Only $35 via Eventbrite (which uses PayPal).
    • Enrollment begins at 12:01 am, Oct. 4.
    • Please be advised: to preserve the more intimate spirit of the Tarot Boutique, seating is limited to the first 30 who sign up.

Prerequisites:

This is not an introductory Tarot course for completely new folks. But it is designed to accommodate fairly new Tarotists who want to know more about the decks out there.

That means if you are just now cracking open your first-ever pack of cards, this is not really for you. But if you are at least pretty familiar with what the Tarot is (and is not), and the basic structure of a Tarot deck (Majors, Minors, etc.) you are most welcome!

A good rule of thumb would be that you can create a 3-card reading for yourself and interpret it with some confidence (it’s totally okay if you have to double-check with a book). Also, recent OLLI class participants are well-qualified for this workshop.

You will need at least one deck of your own (more are welcome!) and you’ll probably want to take notes. Additional handouts will be provided prior to class time.

I am so excited to be reviving these artisanal programs for discerning magical and Tarot people! Please learn more about the Tarot Boutique and additional details for this workshop by going to https://tarotdecks.eventbrite.com

Can’t wait to get together with YOU in November!

Want.
But also don’t want to edge out a more newbier aspiring Tarotist.

I shall let Karma decide, and hold off just a bit more.

Imperfect
is the new sexy.
