Tonight at sunset we light the FIRST candle on our Advent wreath
At At your home, or with loved ones, wherever you are.
It's time to light the first candle in our annual Advent ceremony, also known as the Solstice Sun Wheel Prayer Circle.
Starting TONIGHT, Nov. 29, we will gather at our homes, alone or with loved ones, every Sunday evening through Yule (and/or Christmas) at dusk. As night falls across the Earth, hundreds will be joining our circle, with prayer and celebration.
Gather with your loved ones, or alone, tonight around sunset. Ground and center yourself, or create sacred space in whatever way is right for your practice.
The first candle may represent the Element of Air: knowledge, information, understanding, communication. It is important to acknowledge the dissonance and worry currently affecting this element.
For people who are strictly sticking to the Christian countdown, your first candle lighting begins next Sunday.
But if you'd like to observe both, please start tonight. All faiths, beliefs, and viewpoints can participate, and you can't really do it "wrong." More details will be coming soon! Stay tuned.
