Inspiring Enchantment & Illumination with Tarot & Intuitive Guidance

The Global Climate Crisis

If you are one of the folks who get ticked off when I don’t stick to “spiritual” topics, and I “get political,” you’ll be more comfortable skipping this today.

But comfort is not always helpful or wise.

As I have said many times, my core beliefs are best articulated by the Reclaiming Tradition’s Principles of Unity, part of which state, “Our practice arises from a deep, spiritual commitment to the Earth, to healing and to the linking of magic with political action.”

No apologies.

“Global warming” is a tepid understatement that has found its way into the mainstream, thanks to the people who would prefer to brush it off and change the subject.

But make no mistake.

I am with Greta Thunberg, and millions of other young people and scientists who know the power of precision in naming things.

This is a CRISIS.

These are facts: Countless human lives are being lost, the waters are rising, storms have intensified, the air and water are being poisoned, the bird population in North America is crashing, crops are fizzling, and the crisis is now.

So, although my health has, at the last moment, prevented me from marching today, I urge you to join me, and hundreds of thousands of others around the world in today’s Global Climate Crisis strike.

I will not be answering emails or the phone, after I post this I will be offline, and I will be in communion with the Divine Ones, as well as the  Guardians, Cousins, and Allies who dwell here at Laurel Hill and who are interconnected in the biosphere that is our Grandmother Gaia.

Business as usual spells death.

I am praying and practicing on behalf of Life.

What about you?

I went to our local protest this morning and we stopped to listen as many local churches rang their bells in solidarity for 11 minutes at 11 o’clock to symbolize that we are at the 11th hour. It is indeed a climate crisis. The Oceans have reached their limits of absorbing heat and the winds that move our weather are breaking down (causing Hurricanes to stall out and intensify in the warmer water instead of moving along). The creatures of the Earth are moving or dying. The can cannot be kicked further down the road because we have reached the precipice.

i am with you (and greta et al) 110%!

the time for meaningful, comprehensive change was yesterday. if we are to effect any positive slowing, let alone reversal, of climate change, every one of us needs to act immediately in our own homes and lives, as well as make our voices heard for massive systemic transformation.

i feel it’s important to love and feel gratitude to the earth too. actions anchored in love are always the strongest and most enduring. we must teach our children to love and feel at home in nature, also. we must know what we hope to protect, and let our love for earth, for other living beings, for fellow humans, and for future generations fill us with determination to act.

    we cannot do anything less.
