A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind…. All his life has he looked away…to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph.
Adventure. Heh. Excitement. Heh.
A Jedi craves not these things. You are reckless.
Yoda to young Luke Skywalker, The Empire Strikes Back
This week, we need to stay on our toes and pay attention to important messages. Look out — that fierce, smart, sometimes naive youth, the Page of Lightsabers, has come to visit.
Arthur Waite would probably have summarized this card with the word, “vigilance.” He also would have spelled it Lightsabre, since that is the British spelling.
What enemies are nearby? Is there real danger on the horizon?
The Lightsabers, of course, represent the Element of Air, and correspond to the energy of the Force, as well as the intellect, words, the mind, attitude, and information.
Pages in the Tarot are often messengers and risk-takers, with little in the way of possessions, protection, or equipment.
Unlike the darker, more stormy scenes in many of the other weapons cards, the grass behind the Page is lush and green. However, the fact that we can see his shadow indicates there may be turbulence ahead.
This Page may represent someone (male or female) engaged in the tumultuous nature of intellectual discovery and inspiration, before experience and wisdom can temper them. He gives us a sense of waiting with weapon drawn, for the “other shoe to drop.”
I know there is a lot of that feeling going around right now.
Rites of Passage
It is worth noting that this Page is the eldest of the four suits’ Pages. It will not be long before his initiation into knighthood. What test is he preparing for?
Is there some rite of passage awaiting you this week? Do you expect important, but possibly difficult news?
Is there some situation that threatens to put you on the defensive? Are you expecting some curve ball, that you will need to smack with dead aim, if you are to score?
Beware of this attitude.
If we go into difficult situations prepared for combat, what kind of response can we expect? As Yoda also warns Luke, “You will know when you are calm, at peace. Passive. A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack.”
Eyes and Minds Wide Open
What information are we being given that affects our choices? Is it really true?
One of the more dangerous influences, which may be feeding the tyranny of the Galactic Empire, is the epithet of “fake news,” and that there is no such thing as “truth.”
There has been an increasing call for accountability from social media and questionable news sources. Certainly, the Page of Lightsabers is perfectly equipped for bursting nonsensical bubbles. And it’s past time, don’t you think?
Look for more sensational stories this week which may not stand up under close scrutiny. Be sure to fact check rumors and gossip. Keep your mind open with a sense of flexible curiosity.
Rebel Command star navigator, Elisabeth Grace, cautions:
Heightened sensitivity, dreams, delusions and vision are echoed by the third meet-up of Mercury (how we think and communicate) with Neptune (rose-colored fog, shimmering ideals and gaslighting). This reflects the bewildering spin of the past week, and the final hit happens Tuesday at 5:38 AM ET.
We’ll get a double dose of vision and spin by EOD Tuesday, suggested by the Pisces Moon meeting up with that Mercury-Neptune surreal tango.
Ask questions and avoid jumping to conclusions.
Don’t Poke the Bear
Although it is possible that some kind of opposition awaits you, proceed with caution. The Pages are impetuous and inexperienced. And they do not handle timing or diplomacy as well as the more mature King or Queen.
Beware of this Page’s juvenile tendencies to show off, like blasting off a rant on social media, or otherwise acting out.
As Yoda warns him, excitement and conquest are not what a serious Jedi knight should be aiming for.
The Page might be smart, but maybe not as smart as he or she thinks. Brave, yes, but often reckless, too.
He is also spoiling to show off his prowess and dominance in a fight. But a more experienced saber carrier easily sees through the feints and boasts of the adversary, and picks only the battles that matter.
If this is you, think before you speak. Make sure you’ve got your facts straight, and dial down your emotions.
If the Page represents some other person you are dealing with, avoid being drawn into their arguments, for often they are traps constructed from an immature ego and a need for drama. Be intelligent about whether you realistically can disarm or persuade the person who disagrees.
Confrontation or the possibility of being in harm’s way are rarely much fun. But the Page is light on his feet. Like the Jedi in training, watch your back, stay on the high ground, and keep up your guard if you truly must.
Practice discernment. Know the difference between real challenges and provocation.
Like Luke, he may like to show off his agility and bravery, but true understanding requires knowledge and insight.
Watch your words, keep a cool head, and temper the brilliance of your mind with watchful wisdom.
May the Force be with you.
And Happy Interplanetary Tarot Day: April 1 every year (according to me!) ☺️
