Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying, when there seemed to be no hope at all.
~ Dale Carnegie (a true Sagittarian)
This afternoon, at 4:50pm Eastern time, the Sun moved from Scorpio into the sign of Sagittarius.
I am so glad I didn’t forget to say Happy Birthday to our dear Sag (pronounced “sadj” like “badge”) friends, although no doubt they would be gracious and ungrudging. That’s because they are one of the most expansive and generous of the signs.
Sagittarius is a fire sign and is ruled by the magnanimous, jovial planet Jupiter.
People born under the sign of the Centaur-Archer are said to be optimistic, enthusiastic, and seekers of knowledge. They love to travel, and can be excellent teachers.
But they insist upon their freedom, and can be outspoken and prone to dramatic exaggeration. Yet they can also be very sensitive, diplomatic and deep. Sagittarians are idealists who want everything to be wonderful. All! The! Time!
They are also extremists who hate half measures. For them, it’s either gung ho or no go.
As astrologer Jon Cainer writes, “To be a Sagittarian is to be surrounded by serendipity. Rarely do you have to go without. Your desires so often naturally come to you. Or, at least, they do as long as you know the difference between trusting your luck and pushing your luck. When you strive, you stumble. When you make the most of what you’re offered, you get magical results.”
When the Sun is in Sagittarius – For Everyone
Now that the Sun is in this expansive and upbeat sign, we depart the watery, emotional intensity of Scorpio. The time of Sagittarius encourages us to see the big picture, expand our courage, and be generous with others.
Now, as the dark of the year deepens, we are each making our way through the final, longest nights before Winter Solstice. Thankfully, we have the bright, enthusiastic fires of Sagittarius to inspire and guide us.
May our journeys into the Yuletide season be beautifully blessed!
Do you have a friend or loved one with a Sagittarius Birthday (between Nov. 21 and Dec. 21)? Or maybe you are a Sagittarius who is hoping to make this upcoming birthday the beginning of your best year yet!
