Life is to be lived. If you have to support yourself, you had bloody well better find some way that is going to be interesting. And you don’t do that by sitting around.
~ Katherine Hepburn, Taurus (May 12, 1907)
Happy Birthday to all the Taurus people! The Sun moved into your sign yesterday!
If you are a Taurus, you are generally patient and determined, with lusty physical appetites. You value stability and your special possessions and dislike upheaval and being rushed. As a result, becoming more adaptable can be a challenge for you.
You have probably been especially enjoying our recent Fourth House discussions about our homes, because you love having a secure, comfortable home. You also prefer to work in a stable environment.
Ruled by Venus, you have strong aesthetic tastes and like to create beautiful surroundings. You have a methodical, decisive mind, but beware of becoming inflexible and reluctant to change. Likewise, you are a considerate lover who revels in sensual pleasure, but you can regard a lover as a possession, so do not let jealousy threaten your partnerships.
When the Sun is in Taurus, we are all given the strength and tenacity to follow through on the projects that were initiated (only to perhaps be forgotten) during that impetuous Aries Sun. Taurus may not be a time for daring new ideas or innovation, but someone’s got to do the grunt work sometime — and the Taurus Sun is that time.
However, just because the Sign of the Bull is a time of hard work doesn’t mean you’ll be bereft of pleasure! On the contrary, Taurus, as an Earth Sign, is all about tactile sensation — the enjoyment you can receive from fine foods, the joy of physical contact, and like that famous bull, Ferdinand, smelling the roses. The Bull, like a “bull” growth stock market (remember those?), motivates us to build a strong security base, the kind that is built from slow but steady progress.
