Wordless Wednesday is being preempted today, so we can begin our spell working. First, we start with a lovely piece by astrologer P.P., regarding this magical Virgo New Moon. [On Oct. 22, 2012, the author requested that her post be removed, as she is no longer offering astrology. So her post is no longer available. Sorry. ~ Beth ]

The meaning of life is not a fact to be discovered, but a choice that you make about the way you live.

How lovely, then, that this begins our meditation of gratitude, following the pathway of the “blessed beads.”
For we start this work today with a simple, deep breathing. We gather our focus, coming into our awareness. Setting our intention. We pull our many fleeting, distracting thoughts into a calm, quiet center.
We start by showing up.
One of my favorite teachers, Sage Goode, describes this as “coming home to ourselves.” She sometimes likens it to how we might walk through our home, tidying up: picking up the water glass we left in the living room, the socks under the sofa, the newspaper left by the bed, the wet towels lying on the floor. We pick up all the bits of our attention that might be wandering off thinking about a deadline later today; or a phone call we need to remember to make later; or that funny noise the car is making; or are we getting low on orange juice.
Breathing. Quieting. Gathering, focusing, bringing home to ourselves all our scattered pieces, so that we are fully present.
In stillness, in this dark Moonless moment, we prepare to have an intentional, fully present conversation of thanksgiving and praise with the Great Goddess.
And nothing else is needed. Nothing else matters.
Today, practice coming into your full attention. You are most welcome to share your thoughts as you consider why you want to be a part of this working, and what you bring to it. In the full, undivided attention of your own divinity, meeting with your own Beloved, who and what are you? What is your intention?
Dark of the Moon, we plant our seed tonight.
