The New Moon in Leo occurs this Monday, August 9, 2010 at 11:08 pm ET (3:28 am August 10, 2010 GMT). As with all New Moons, this is a time of new beginnings. What new intention, project, or magic will you initiate tonight so that it can be completed by the next Full Moon, Aug. 24?
Dan Furst notes that this “Dark Moon [is] conjunct Sun in Leo. One of the true power points of the year, as the electrical, masculine energy of the Sun, ruler of Leo, is complemented by the Moon’s magnetic, feminine energy. [But] the great lights are supporting players at this Dark Moon, as the Cardinal Cross of 2010 remains in effect.”
Jeff Jawer writes, “The New Moon in the Sun’s warm-hearted home sign of Leo inspires romance, creativity and playfulness. It is a time to let our inner child express itself with joyful enthusiasm. However, hard aspects from this lunation to the Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto T-square could provoke explosive reactions if innocence is tainted with arrogance.
“One person’s pleasure can be annoying to others, reminding us to balance the desire for self-expression with respect for other people’s limits.”
Lara Owen adds, “Perhaps fortunately, given the high level of inter-aspects at the moment, this lunation makes no aspects to any other planets. Either it won’t really feel like a New Moon and the story will be more of the same, or we’ll have an emotional sense of relief after the intensity of the past month.”
Here’s hoping for, and wishing you the best!
