Inspiring Enchantment & Illumination with Tarot & Intuitive Guidance

Being Inspired

The artist is a servant who is willing to be a birthgiver.
— Madeline L’Engle, from Walking on Water: Reflections on Faith and Art

I hope you’re beginning to see that our wildest dreams and the dreams of the Goddess for us are, by definition, on the same track. But get ready, because time apparently works differently on the cosmic level (not surprisingly).

In my experience, when you reach out and seek help, be willing to wait, but don’t be surprised if things start happening much faster than you would have expected. The Creator has been patiently waiting a long, long time for you to come along, so you can understand how eager and joyful the response is going to be when you finally, really connect to Her.

Don’t let it throw you if things start whizzing along faster than you think you’re ready for. Just remember that She knows better than you what you can actually handle, so trust and do your best.

Of course, you can always turn away and say no. Or not yet. But beware! One of my other favorite inspirational writers, Sarah Ban Breathnach, writes about this in her luminous work, Simple Abundance.

“Perhaps one day,” she tells us, “we’ll realize it’s not the will of God we need to fear as much as being left to our own deceits and devices. We can always choose to say ‘No’ to the next Wuthering Heights, The Piano, or Barney.

“ ‘Sorry, find someone else.’

“And Spirit will.

“To be fair, sometimes we don’t literally use those words. Sometimes we say, ‘Sorry, I just can’t get my act together right now. Come back later.’

“So the Great Creator moves on until a willing artist with an open heart offers to become the creative conduit.”

Which is why we are stunned and heartbroken when, after years of tinkering, slap-dash occasional stabs at The Novel, someone else hits the bestseller list with an almost identical idea. Or they get invited on the local news program to promote the grand opening of their eclectic, funky store with the exact name and concept you’d fantasized about creating for years.

No, they didn’t somehow steal your ideas. The ideas are flowing everywhere. We just have to learn to connect. And then follow through. But if we will, we’ll find we have eager help all around us!

Julia writes, “Learn to accept that possibility that the universe is helping you with what you are doing. Become willing to see the hand of the Goddess and accept it as a friend’s offer to help with what you are doing. Because many of us unconsciously harbor the fearful belief that the Divine would find our creations decadent or frivolous or worse, we tend to discount this creator-to-creator help.

“Try to remember that She is the Great Artist. Artists like other artists.” And She especially likes to see your wildest, most creative desires born.

I surf the creative Divine and have learned that some ideas that come down are to be shared with others, and that the ideas that come on the Ninth Wave are for me to nurture and grow.

There's always enough to go around and in order to be able to give, one has to learn how to receive first. Which is the opposite of what we have been conditioned to believe. Just turning that pithy quote around has turned on the abundance full-stream in my life in less than a week.
