What we envision

Will come to be by the Full Moon’s light.

The [Divine Source] is friendly to you and is more anxious to give you what you want than you are to get it.
— from The Science of Getting Rich, by Wallace D. Wattles (1860-1911)

Blessings of this New Moon. Today brings us a very powerful eclipse, and a second New Moon within the same sign (called The Secret Moon). So it is fitting that once again we are working with some of the ideas made popular in The Secret.

Do you agree that money is energy? For those of us with an Earth-centric spirituality, all things and beings are the manifestation of the Divine. So the question is, what do you believe about your personal relationship with All That Is? And how does this show up in terms of your physical support, which in our culture translates to money?

At the heart of this, we have to confront our beliefs about why we are here, the nature of the interactions between the God/dess and ourselves, and how things work. Please understand me, I do not subscribe in any way to the judgments (New Age or Puritanical) that if you are not wealthy, you are somehow not favored by the Divine and/or it’s somehow your fault.

Over the years, I have spent time struggling very hard just to survive. And I have also had long stretches when, while not any more or less well off, I did not struggle at all, but truly trusted the bounty and protection of the Multiverse. The Divine has come through for me every single time, as long as I also made the effort to cooperate. I can tell you that not struggling, and not being in a survival, fight or flight mindset is a lot more enjoyable, even if the actual results are not particularly different.

But it has finally dawned on me (yes, I can be slow sometimes) that the results can be profoundly different. It’s from a new kind of understanding, cooperating, then acting and expecting good results from the Giver of Good. Or you might view it as To Know, To Will, To Dare, and To Keep Silent.

In my own practice, I have been examining the ways that I have slipped back into a fearful mindset. I do believe that on an energetic level we can create what we fear and desire, and we’d best be clear about the difference.

I do not believe that these concepts are as simplistic as the popular programs in “The Secret,” and “The Law of Attraction,” because I believe they fail to account for other powers, such as chaos and The Bigger Picture, being present. For instance, sometimes the Goddess says “No” and it is definitely for our higher good.

And I think those programs send the wrong message that if we can just control our thoughts, we can make anything happen. I don’t think people can control their thoughts; the mind has a mind of its own. But we can expand our understanding, broaden our awareness, and upgrade our mindset.

I have been working with a priestess of abundance, Elizabeth Genco Purvis, who explains, “One of my teachers likes to say, ‘The subconscious is as sneaky as hell. You cannot beat it. Period.’ He’s right.

“It is very, very hard to just control your thoughts. That’s why in upgrading your mindset, you have to look at what’s going on “underneath the hood,” so to speak.

“You must identify the limiting beliefs that you are carrying around and challenge them. You must [find] those blocks in your subconscious mind that are stopping you, dismantle them, and replace them with things that serve you. And you must use tools that work with your mind, as it behaves naturally.

Most importantly, as you become more successful, you must step into a new way of being in the world…It’s not your fault that your subconscious mind does what it does! It IS your responsibility to shift, change, and grow yourself so that you can help more of the people you’re destined to help, and, in turn, receive the abundance that you truly desire.”

More tomorrow.

Amazing post…and so exactly where I am right at this moment…Define wealthy. This reminds me of my unfortunate born again Christian experience, if you weren't prospering, you didn't have enough faith in god, if you weren't tithing, well you were really in deep trouble. I know, that I know the Universe has always taken care of me, and always will. However, that fearful mindset will keep raising it's ugly head, oh so ugly, but now I say, come on, I own you and I will give and receive as the Universe sees fit. Just listen…
With love and thanks for you Beth

Regarding yesterday's post on the 6 of coins–
One of the things I consider "charitable giving" is smiling and greeting folks I pass on the street. I'm not always up for it; energetically some days I just need to keep to myself. But when I can do it, it feels so good.

Maybe this is what you mean by upgrading one's mindset. I do not have extra cash to give away to anyone . . . but I do usually have an abundance of goodwill. So do I think of myself as unable to be generous, or as needy because I don't have ready cash? Nope. It seems I've upgraded to the mindset of seeing abundance where it is!

Thank you Beth for your thoughtfulness in putting together these posts. I do look forward to them.

New Moon blessings to you, dear one.

    Beth Owl-

Thank you for all your lovely posts over the past few weeks. I am preparing to make a big transition, which I know is in the best interest of my family, but worries about money and scarcity are chasing around in my mind, and the more I try to control my thoughts, the less that works. Your teacher that said the mind is a sneaky thing was spot on.

Anyways, your posts are a huge inspiration to me and are helping me know that I can make the necessary changes to make things better for my family and that all will be just fine. Learning to give up the struggle and let go is an ongoing process.

Joanna is right, sometimes a kind word, a smile, or another person's thoughtfulness is better than money.

Thank you all…I so appreciate that we are all living with big, ever increasing pressures in our own lives as we transition through the Pluto in Capricorn economic revolution. Or however you want to view it.

It is especially challenging to be attempting to move into more authentic ways of living and providing for ourselves and our families, when there are so few forms and models in place yet. I believe we are the pioneers of a new definition of abundance itself.

In all seriousness, being loving and real with one another, and expressing our truth, from creating our art to smiling at strangers, is the genesis of the New Wealth.
