The Healing Moon of Tara Willow

Whenever you have need of anything, once a month, and better it be when the Moon is full, you shall assemble in some secret place and adore the spirit of Me, Who is Queen of all the Wise.
— from the Charge of the Goddess, traditional by Doreen Valiente
This is the annual Sagittarius Full Moon, sometimes known as the Strawberry Moon, the Rose Moon, the Lotus Moon, Lover’s Moon or the Dyad Moon and it is sacred to Juno. It brings magnanimous blessings for love, marriage, and success.
My circle, The Dragon’s Cauldron, will be glad to learn that astrologer Lynn Hayes writes, “This Full Moon is the perfect time for group ritual or celebration in which a spiritual purpose combines with a structure and focused plan in a social gathering.”
Astrologer Robert Wilkinson also writes extensively of today’s Full Moon. He notes, “Given the aspects and positions, expect major releases of energies at the end of the end of old ways and views. The biggest lessons deal with productive mental disciplines of synthesis and deeper, gentler compassion helping our lower mind express the Higher Self as it is the vehicle to demonstrate the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius.
“This will test our nobility, strength, creativity, and show us what we need to let go of, or purify, so that the role, function, or ideal we have defined as our heart’s desire can make an appearance…
“Other lessons involve verbal mindfulness, not indulging in self-deprecating words or thoughts, and finding the role or roles we want to play that clarify who we are and what skills we bring to the interactions. Avoid getting lost in irrelevancies and side issues, and find ways to get the understanding you need to carry your specialized function to fruition.”
One of my other favorite astrologers, Rhea Wolf, points out that, “This is a friendly and optimistic Moon, looking for the next adventure. But its shadow shows a propensity to over-commit and a need to stretch the truth to suit our own purposes.
“Are there places where you are blinded by faith? Do you need to come down to earth and reconnect with what’s real? This Full Moon reminds us to get in touch with our Higher Self by retreating into nature or leaping into new experiences that stretch us out of rigid thinking.
“The ongoing Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius [means] deep emotional issues and old wounds may be pushed into the forefront. We may also feel an incredible pull to jump to the next level of personal awareness and collective vision. Pay attention to dreams, to spiritual insights, and new ways to heal.”
May all your rites be most richly blessed on this juicy, beautiful Full Moon.
