Inspiring Enchantment & Illumination with Tarot & Intuitive Guidance

Tarot Card of the Week: May 18- 24

The Queen of Wands

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience by which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I can take the next thing that comes along.” You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
— Eleanor Roosevelt

Here’s a surprise! We have never yet had a visit from the Queen of Wands! But this week, we do, at last! We can thus welcome her inspiring combination of the passionate, magical fire energy of the Wands suit with the inward focus of a Queen. With her black cat familiar and her sunflower, she is the only Queen who sits facing forward, her legs spread apart, beneath her sunny gown.

The Queen of Wands is popular, charismatic, and adventurous. She tackles problems in a candid, straightforward manner, and she is never afraid to take a risk if it is for something or someone she is passionate about. She is incapable of deceit, cynicism, or manipulation. With her attractive good looks, warm smile and easygoing manner, she has many friends and admirers.

But she is not just empty charm. Her energy is powerful, and her creativity and enthusiasm are contagious. Never one to sit on the sidelines, she is willing to give her all to a given task.

Yet she usually has plenty of help, for she is often surrounded by people who are inspired by her example and eager to pitch in. Thus, she is a natural leader, but leads by empowering those around her. Her specialty is helping people tap into their own reserves of enthusiasm and creativity.

She is almost always upbeat and cheerful, ready to look for the positive in any situation. And while she is not naïve, anxieties never slow her down. She knows just how to confront her fears directly and boldly move ahead.

Although she needs to beware of vanity, the Queen of Wands is never pretentious and she has good reason to be confident. She has a knack for accomplishing whatever she sets her mind to. She also can tend to oversimplify situations, and is not always tuned in to nuance. Yet her sincerity is such that people rarely feel used or resentful by the wielding of her power. She invites us tap into what is best and brightest in us.

This week is likely to be an unusually inventive, productive time for you, with much friendship and fun. You may find yourself stepping into a leadership position, or hosting parties, events, or important gatherings. Yours now is the power to inspire others, not by your words, but by your example and how you live.

Inspiring, passionate, creative and forthright, use your power now for the greatest good of all. You can shine in the days ahead, blessed by the Queen of Wands’ warmth, passion and sincerity.

Yes, there was a change in the air today. The wind blew something new and different in. This afternoon, I felt rather empowered by the Queen and was able to invent a wire jig to make starflower shapes to use on my necklaces. The design is in the rough draft stage, but looks promising. That happened after I had a melt down in yoga class this morning, one of those unexpected intense emotional releases that seem to be part of my path these days. Tears and all. I feel like I am not in control of my body a lot of the time! I have certainly experienced the roller coaster described by Julie as I morph into a new creative being. Things have become unpredictable and I am uncomfortable not being in control of things.

…hot, cold, laughing, crying, creating, holding on…
