Another world is not only possible,
she is on her way. On a quiet day,
I can hear her breathing.
— Arundati Roy
Change is upon us, dear ones. As has been foretold for decades by astrologers, shamans, indigenous peoples, and those attuned to non-ordinary communication channels, we are now seeing the structures that we have called “security” in the process of collapsing, crumbling, and shape-shifting into something decidedly Other.
I am hesitant to get carried away by some of the New Age jargon, which I feel is a little too biased towards comforting fantasies, and especially, “the Light.” As a Witch, I embrace the balance of light and dark. I experience the Dark Mother as just as loving and natural as the shining gentleness of other forms of the Divine. And just as necessary.
But I do believe that we are in the midst of the great turning of the age. There is no doubt in my mind that, regardless of any future setbacks, on the day that Barack Obama was inaugurated, a doorway swung open, a shift occurred and there is no going back. Even as the old guard fights (and even draws blood) to hang on to their old, dying paradigm, a new world is not only possible, I can hear Her breathing.
How can we nurture this tender new beginning? I believe that we are called upon to live fully what it is we desire to see. As my dear teacher and friend Donald Engstrom-Reese would say, we must dare to dwell in beauty, balance and delight. Now. Not later, after some transformative something or other has happened.
That transformative something has happened. The rest of the world will eventually catch up. It falls to you and I to send down deep tap roots that will support and sustain it, by living it now. Our vision of the future is already here. Join in this magical weaving, for we are the creators of what will be.
If you know the artists for today’s posts, please
let me know so I can credit them.
I will be out of town and unavailable for the next few days, so while I am gone, to fortify us for our new journey together, I will be sharing some of the poetry for Brighid that was posted this week in Her honor.
Please remember that poetry is meant to be read aloud. It is some of the biggest magic you will ever encounter. Poetry is the ultimate spellworking.
So drink deep from this beauty and fill the wells of your inspiration.
See you next week!
