Inspiring Enchantment & Illumination with Tarot & Intuitive Guidance

Tarot Card of the Week: March 10 – 16

If I must choose between peace and righteousness, I choose righteousness.
— Theodore Roosevelt

With the Wands, which is the suit of Fire, will, and passion, this week, we see a figure who is staunchly defending himself. And the Sevens of the Tarot are ruled by Saturn, so they often present lessons and challenges.

His expression is one of fierce determination, and although he is outnumbered, he stands on the high ground. This would seem to show he has a moral advantage, pointing to his integrity and valor. His flexibility might be indicated by the fact that he is wearing two different kinds of boots. And despite the dramatic look of this scene, in fact, his enemies are not able to reach him.

Sometimes, the challenges that come into our lives are there to help us develop our courage and inner strength. Or they can help us clarify what is and is not a real priority. This week’s card indicates that this is a struggle that, far from being a drain, may be exhilarating in some way, or one that brings us a chance to confront some issues we need to resolve once and for all.

This week, you may be called upon to step up to a challenge and defend your rights or beliefs. What do you value, despite the criticism or negative opinions of others? In what ways might you be challenged in your loyalties – particularly to yourself? This is not the time to let others walk over you, for that path leads to passiveness and depression. Instead, take the high ground and be prepared to fight if necessary for what matters.

Check in with yourself and know your inner motives. Do not abandon fairness or compassion, but know your bottom line. What do you deeply care about, and what can you let go? For we all have to pick our battles. Most sane people prefer peace, but there are times when we must confront injustice, bigotry, or the harm that others wish to inflict. Don’t avoid this struggle just because you may be outnumbered.

As long as you know your heart is true, assert your courage and defend what you care about. If you are clear with yourself about your intentions and integrity, victory can be yours.

This was emailed to me to share here (the sender was having technical trouble posting). Thanks, Kate!

Thank you so much Owl’s Wings for the TC of the Week. It was so affirming to check your site this morning in the wake of a personal battle to which I applied the utmost energy into following nonviolent principles. How hard it is to travel this strange road & how tempting the retributive one cobbled with zingers and putdowns! I thank you for the service this blog represents and for the devotion you show in attending it. I wish you well. (And I hope that your cat is better) — Kate
