When it’s over, I want to say: all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.

The Pages in the Tarot, sometimes depicted as Princesses or even Daughters, are often messengers, or catalysts for change. They may indicate an actual child (male or female), or our own “inner child.” But they are open to possibilities and taking risks. Of course, the Pentacles suit is usually very steady and grounded, so risk-taking in the Pentacles is more like a new beginning than impulsiveness.
The Pentacles correspond to the Element of Earth and the Guardian of the North. So they focus mainly on work, practical matters, money, home and physical well-being. Behind the youth in the card, we see a grove of trees, ahead is a newly plowed field, and he is surrounded by flowers. So it would seem that he is in transition, in a period of possibilities.
Although there may be deep roots that support him, no fruit has yet been brought to bear. In the distance the lofty peaks of new horizons may beckon. Yet for now, he is focused only on his Pentacle Coin, which is almost floating on his fingertips.
The Page’s appearance this week may indicate some important news regarding land, investments, or job matters. In the current, extremely volatile stock market and precarious world markets, perhaps he indicates that we should pay extra attention to our money, and be prepared to move swiftly if necessary.
Aug. 21 – Update: Visit my friend Lynn Hayes’ astrology blog for additional, very valuable information about current stock market trends and the Venus retrograde.
Additionally, he may herald a possible new business idea, or a new direction. This could also be a good week to find a new home if you are looking. And like the Page, you may wish to dedicate yourself to new avenues of knowledge that provide practical wisdom.
This week, focus intently on your goals, particularly your financial ones, as well as home and health. There is fertile ground here, and by combining the Pentacles’ steadfastness and stamina with the Page’s light touch and flexibility, a comfortable return is likely.
