As you may know, about three times per year, from the viewpoint of standing on the Earth, it appears that the planet Mercury seems to go backwards in the sky. This is what we call Mercury in retrograde.
In astrology, the planet Mercury rules thinking and perception, processing and disseminating information and all means of communication, commerce, education and transportation. By extension, Mercury rules people who work in these areas, especially people who work with their minds or their wits: writers and orators, commentators and critics, gossips and spin doctors, teachers, travellers, tricksters and thieves.
Mercury retrograde often gives rise to personal misunderstandings; flawed, disrupted, or delayed communications, negotiations and trade; glitches and breakdowns with phones, computers, cars, buses, and trains. And all of these problems usually arise because some crucial piece of information, or component, has gone astray, or awry.
To make the best of it, I’ve made it a practice for several years to turn the Winged Messenger’s lemons into lemonade by sponsoring my Mercury Retrograde Contest!
So please send me your stories of how this or previous Mercury retrogrades have affected you. The funniest, weirdest, most frustrating, enlightening, and/or classic tale will win a FREE half hour phone Tarot reading from me. This includes a digital photo of your reading and a cassette tape of our conversation.
Contest closes March 7, after Mercury goes direct once more!
