    Beautiful! I was so happy to see you post yours. We just moved to the South 4 months ago, and I looked out my window to see a beautiful pink flower. I didn’t believe it so I took our binoculars (it was raining)! It was indeed a flower. I went out into the rain with slicker and boots and saw this large shrub had little pink buds everywhere! It was a real delight for me, a new year’s gift! I learned they are camellias 🙂

    Welcome to the formerly sunny (but now, seemingly endlessly rainy) South!

    Camellias (and their Fall-blooming species, Camellia sasanquas) are some of our most lovely gifts. I am especially fond of them, because my grandfather grew and hybridized award-winning camellias. He and my grandmother were fairly famous in that tiny little niche. 🙂
