Love what you do. Get good at it. Competence is a rare commodity in this day and age. And let the chips fall where they may.
~ Jon Stewart, Nov. 28, 1962 (Sun and Moon in Sagittarius)
This morning at 10:26am, Eastern time, the Sun moved from Scorpio into the sign of Sagittarius.
Happy Birthday to our dear Sag (pronounced “sadj” like “badge”) friends, one of the most expansive and generous of the signs.
Sagittarius is a fire sign and is ruled by the magnanimous, jovial planet Jupiter. (Jove is the other name for Jupiter, after all).
People born under the sign of the Centaur-Archer are said to be optimistic, enthusiastic, and seekers of knowledge. They love to travel, and can be excellent teachers.
But they insist upon their freedom, and can be outspoken, even prone to dramatic exaggeration. Their devotion to knowledge can sour if they become too bossy and know-it-all. But any tendency towards pompousness is easily overlooked by their ability to laugh at themselves, and their cheerful, genuine love for life.
As a fire sign, Sagittarians may have quick and intense tempers, but then they just as quickly forgive and forget. They are also extremists who hate half measures. For them, it’s either gung ho or no go.
They are idealists who want everything to be wonderful. All! The! Time!
Total devotion to competence, as double Sag Jon Stewart well knows, becomes excellence, and that is the only thing a Sag will really settle for. Then, and only then, will they let the chips fall.
When the Sun is in Sagittarius – For Everyone
Now that the Sun is in this expansive and upbeat sign, we depart the watery, secretive, emotional intensity of Scorpio. The time of Sagittarius encourages all of us to see the big picture, expand our courage, and be divinely magnanimous to others.
Now, as the dark of the year deepens, we are each making our way through the final, longest nights before Winter Solstice. Thankfully, we have the bright, enthusiastic fires of Sagittarius to inspire and guide us, for this is the sparkling, shining time of year, brimming with magic, myth, and good cheer.
May our journeys into the Yuletide season be happily blessed!
Do you have a friend or loved one with a Sagittarius Birthday (between Nov. 22 and Dec. 21)? Or maybe you are a Sagittarius who is hoping to make this upcoming birthday the beginning of your best year yet!
