Inspiring Enchantment & Illumination with Tarot & Intuitive Guidance

Tarot Card of the Week, May 12-18, 2014: The Magician

I am going to show you how to change the world, not understand it.
~ Guy Kawasaki, Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions

The march of the Majors continues, since we have just been visited by The World, and Strength. In this week of the Full Moon, the third time is the charm as we welcome the great change catalyst, The Magician.

The Magician is the initiator of consciousness and awareness. He is the true beginning of the Major Arcana sequence, sometimes thought of as the Royal Road of the soul’s journey. He turns the nebulous, unformed potential of The Fool into directed intention and action.

Upon his table lie all the tools of the Minor Arcana, which are the symbols of the Elements: the Sword of Air, the Wand of Fire, the Cup of the Waters, and the Pentacle that is Earth.

He stands, like a lightning rod, open to the holy flash of Spirit. He runs the energy of the Divine into the manifesting Earth: As above, so below.

The Magician is a receptor and channeler of power, a shaman who understands exactly how to receive the raw energy of the Universe, and direct it — to make, to create, to change, and to shape outcomes in the “real” world.

He does not get bogged down in the mental morass of trying to understand and explain that world. He is here to transform it.

Surrounded by white lilies and red roses, a recurring theme in the Tarot, he acts with both purity and passion. Above his crown chakra is the lemniscate, symbol of his connection to Eternity, which we just saw last week in Strength.

The Taurus – Scorpio Full Moon

This week, the powerful Full Moon of the Taurus/Scorpio polarity is upon us. This is the Full Moon during which millions around the world celebrate Wesak, the commemoration of the birth, enlightenment, and death of Gautama Buddha.

The Buddha himself instructed his disciples as to how he wished to be honored, once he shed this incarnate life. He asked not to only be offered flowers, incense, and candle lighting, but that his followers also make this a time for re-affirming their determination to lead noble lives, to develop their minds, to practice loving-kindness, and to bring peace and harmony to humanity.

What if we could wave a magic wand, and make that happen?

Lorna Bevan at Hare in the Moon astrology notes, “It is always a powerful Lunation, falling as it does across the 2nd/8th House axis of the world chart, bringing what was hidden to consciousness for transmutation.”

So it seems especially fitting that The Magician is our companion, as a bringer of profound change and transformation.

Your Life is a Magical Creation

This week, the infinite power of the Multiverse is in your hands. Your life is a magical act of creation. How will you wield such a force?

You have the skill and the tools to shape-shift your reality into whatever your deepest desire may be. What will you create?

Know thyself. Align with the Divine: above, below, and within.

In so doing, you will recognize your power. How will you focus it, then, and take action?

Now is your moment to change the world.

Abracadabra! Flash! Shazam!

And as you so will it, so it must be.
