Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.

The news this week seems ever more dramatic and grim. The Big Showdown square-off of crossed planets intensifies and includes a heavy lunar eclipse. The Jewish and Christian faiths prepare to celebrate some of their most important holidays.
So, one would naturally expect our Tarot guidance this week to be rather serious and even, perhaps, offer a warning.
Instead, we receive an encore visit from the happy Ten of Cups, which appeared only a month or so ago.
The Cups in the Tarot are our emotions, particularly love, as well as intuition, healing, and empathy. And the Tens are the overflowing of those qualities. So this is a card of harmony, wonder, and over-the-top happiness.
To read my more conventional analysis, stop by here.
Otherwise, I am going to make this short (for me, that is!) and sweet.
How do we defeat such entrenched, complex, ancient powers? How can we shift the paradigm of fear, violence, and pain, as so many of us well know we came here to do?
Place the oxygen mask on yourself first, then offer assistance.
We start with our own joyful sense of life. What makes your heart soar? What replenishes your personal faith in the goodness of life? Do this! Remember this! Fill your loving Cups of joy.
The Ten of Cups also reminds us – we cannot not do this alone.
Please offer assistance. The restoration of love and hope includes our own nearest and dearest.
It’s all well and good to wish for world peace or an end to poverty, but the blessings we wish to see must start at home, in our own backyard.
If we can’t nurture our own inner harmony; can’t find forgiveness or make a healing truce with our families; if we can’t make friends with our neighbors, and reach out the hand of kindness to those in our own circles — how can we demand more of our leaders and representatives, and other communities?
We are the ones we are waiting for
We are the bringers of light, and we bring it every single ordinary day, in everything we do. We are living proof of Good, by showing up, come what may, with our bountiful love, grace, and gratitude.
Now is the time to shine, like this happy card. We move through challenges both small and cosmic by holding fast to the message of the Ten of Cups.
We change the world one person/situation/moment at a time, by blessing everything and everyone around us. Our inner happiness cannot be bought, sold, or stolen. But we must recognize, nurture, and share it.
Across the sky, like the astrological transformations we are now undergoing, there is a rainbow’s promise.
Be as generous as you possibly can, for grace is given to us all, in the exact measure that we give it to one another.
Happiness does not come from outside circumstances. Love is who, why, and what we are.
