Thirty Days of Thanksgiving – Day Five

by Beth on November 5, 2012

You almost have to be a rock star to get the kind of fever you need to survive in American politics.
~  Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail ’72

The Fives in numerology and Tarot are often about conflict, the upset of the stability of the Fours, and testing. They are also often about loss, disturbance, anger, and rebellion and/or conformity.

And so I think maybe it is appropriate that I offer a sort of back-handed thanks.

Today, I give thanks that this is the last day before this election.  I am sick to pieces of it, as most reading this probably are, too. Only the bloody battles of 1968 come close to the simmering anger and potential backlash that this has stirred.

Thank you, dearest Giver of Good, for a land where our voices, and even our exhaustion, can be heard and may make a difference. I am so very glad that we are coming to the end of this long, bitter campaign.
