Why can’t you harness Might so that it works for Right?… The Might is there, in the bad half of people, and you can’t neglect it.
~ Arthur Pendragon, The Once and Future King, by T.H. White
This week of the Full Moon in Gemini that also brings us a lunar eclipse, we are visited by the Six of Wands.
As you can clearly see, this is a card of inspiration and triumph. With Wands being the fiery force of creativity and action, we see the victorious hero surrounded by his joyful followers, carrying the symbols of victory. His enemies are defeated and his people look forward to peace and prosperity.
It is worth noting that we are currently in the Jupiter-ruled time of the Sun in Sagittarius, and the Tarot Sixes are ruled by expansive, benevolent Jupiter as well. They portray the resolution of the conflicted Fives, and highlight the benefits of cooperation and sharing with others.
This Six is the dazzling combination of Jupiter in Leo. Look for a brilliant triumph of some kind, bringing happy celebrations. Perhaps this is for you! Or perhaps that most famous Leo, Barack Obama, is going to have an important victory this week.
We also see the end of Mercury retrograde Monday at 5:48pm (Eastern time). What has been on hold, or fraught with delays and confusion, can now start to make successful progress.
Arthur Waite, creator of the Waite-Smith deck, hinted that perhaps the Six of Wands hero had not yet won the final victory. Instead this is a reminder of the innate strength of optimism. In spite of cynical secular skepticism, there is heroic power in the magical thinking that what you will, will come to be.
Of course, Wands are all about that — will, manifesting, and magic. So in many ways, this card indicates that the true victory is in the belief, followed by action. Often, by acting as if we are not afraid, fear is conquered.
Yet the hero does not succeed all by himself. He must have the cooperation of his supporters. Sixes show how collaboration combined with leadership is the winning combination.
This week, spend time in the company of your friends and colleagues, especially those whose goals are in harmony with your own.
How are you being asked to step into a starring role? Tap into the creative spark of your hungers. Don’t be intimidated by your own power; you can use your might for right.
Upon the rugged steed of your desire and will, ride forward with confidence. Success is born from our commitment to what we believe in and the passion to act.
Whether there are more battles still ahead, or the struggle is over at last, celebrate each triumph with grace and gratitude for those who have helped you.
Savor the sweetness of your victories, for you have surely earned them.
