Tarot Card of the Week: June 25-July 1, 2012 – The Chariot

If you’re going through hell, keep going.
~ Winston Churchill

Back yet again, The Chariot seems to be one of our most frequent visitors lately.

This week, it is especially welcome!  In a world changing at dizzying speeds, it can be a steady ally to help us stay focused and balanced.  And where we are stuck, it promises forward momentum.

I am sure you are aware that, on many levels, we’re undergoing a lot of intensity.  From the astrological perspective, Lance Ferguson of Skywatch Astrology writes,  “There’s a huge hangover in the air Monday morning from the powerful and challenging squares that are now in the heavens.

“Double-check all details and don’t believe all you hear with philosopher Jupiter squaring unrealistic Neptune in the Skywatch now. And don’t be surprised if changes of one kind or another appear in your life and times this week.

“The positive side of Uranus square Pluto is the urge/need to let go of people and situations that no longer support your program. Wait to make final decisions on important matters as Venus is still retrograde until Wednesday.”

The Chariot is ruled by the home, family, and security-loving sign of Cancer, which the Sun just moved into at Solstice last week. With Venus ending her retrograde period, this might be a great week to move ahead with those beautification projects around the house that you may have been putting off. It is also a chance to cultivate your financial security, which may have felt stuck in neutral for a while.

In addition to the relief of getting Venus’ beneficial gifts moving again, Saturn, which has been retrograde since early February, finally, slowly, shifted gears today and now begins to move forward again. So if you’ve also been feeling stalled in your work, finances, relationships, and life in general, look for even more forward traction — at last!

The Chariot is the perfect vehicle to drive us forward. It is the number seven in the Major Arcana, which as you know is a most magical number of luck, success, and power. Pythagoras called it the perfect number, a combination of 3 and 4, the triangle and the square, which he considered the perfect figures.

Is there literal travel on your horizon? Perhaps some long-overdue opportunity for leadership and recognition is now possible.  The Chariot encourages us to seize the day!

It also indicates that as long as we meet it head-on, we can reconcile the strife of opposites, and turn it into collaboration and forward momentum.

Instead of a combative approach, The Chariot urges maturity and the mastery of our emotions. By doing so, we can defuse angry or recalcitrant extremism. When we take the high road, we can expect a more balanced and wise result.

Good advice in the wake of Sunday’s intense Uranus-Pluto square, which was only the first of seven over the next four years. They are expected to profoundly change the world as we now know it.

And after all the postponing from Saturn and Venus in retrograde, this week we can welcome the chance to focus our energy, set a clear intention, and move forward.

If the going has been tough, the solution is to keep going.  Happily, The Chariot is hitched up and ready to roll.

So interesting! This is my personal card of the week. And last week, I was noticing so much earth synchronicity in all he cyber postings. I have Ace of Earth for path of the week in the Gaian Tarot Circle and the Queen of Earth as a personal card. Then Theresa Reed and Matt Williams had pentacles throughout the week and Allison Cross had the Child of Earth as her blog hop focus. And, of course, here the King of Pentacles made its first appearance ever!
Now perhaps the earth is softening to flow. I have lots of water for the GTC this week. The Chariot is here and Theresa Reed has 8 of Cups for today.
Cards of the Day go too fast for me. One reason to love your card of the week! But I like it when I find these patterns. It doesn’t happen all the time, but we seem to be more collectively connected right now perhaps!

This card came as very good news! I haven’t just been stalled, I’ve been STUCK — mostly because of my own fears and anxieties. It feels like where I want to go is out there, but I’m afraid to choose a direction. I’m edgy and unfocused, I’m probably rather unpleasant to be around at the moment. Hopefully, this week I’ll be able to grab the reins and get moving!

    Thanks, Carolyn and Maria!
Meantime, was just updating my little card tracking database and while I knew we’d had The Chariot very recently, I had not realized The Chariot is showing up as the opening and closing for the Venus retrograde!

It last appeared the week that Venus stationed retrograde, and now, this week when Venus goes direct, here it is again!

    That’s pretty interesting!
