New beginnings!

Today, we welcome the magical lunation that will transition the Northern Hemisphere from Summer to Autumn.  Rather than offering the burgeoning energy of Springtime budding and blossoming, this is the fresh start that many of us associate with a new school year.

What does that evoke for you?

I think of shiny new shoes going on feet that were bare all Summer, freshly pressed new dresses to replace outgrown ones, the crack of new textbooks, vast white expanses of untouched Blue Horse loose-leaf filler paper, and new faces in a new classroom (often in a new town or base).

How perfect that Virgo’s influence permeates this time! She sparkles with energy urging us to get organized, tidy up, sharpen our pencils and commit to new routines for health and work.  It’s time to toss all the mess and clutter that might be bogging us down.  And now that Mercury has stationed direct once more, there is even more impetus to get focused and move ahead.

Astrologer Simone Butler suggests, “While the Sun is in earthy Virgo (Aug. 23 to Sept. 22) we hone in on details, refurbish our nest, redefine our work and take better care of ourselves. The August 28 Virgo New Moon (8:04 p.m. PDT) is the perfect time to launch a clutter-bust or commit to a hearth or health makeover.

“The New Moon’s trine to Pluto in Capricorn lends potency, wisdom and efficiency. And, trickster Mercury will have just turned direct on Aug. 26, greasing the wheels of progress after a stressful three-week retrograde. If you need to make an important purchase or begin a creative project, the New Moon energies, along with a beautiful Venus/Jupiter trine on Aug. 29, are ideal.”

In addition, Dr. Sandra Helton encourages us, “The New Moon in Virgo launches a two week cycle of progressive growing energy pertaining to all things Virgo. Whatever you want to achieve, and especially if practical steps are called for, then you can be on your way with exactly that – taking a step at a time. Mark your calendar and have a plan for greatest overall success as each step can successfully lead you to the next. It is time to get moving but not for trying to do everything all at once.”

Yum!

What will your New Moon wish be?  May all your new endeavors, projects and new beginnings be Virgo blessed!

Ooh, I love this one. My tidying continues, and now I am thinking about contacting a real estate agent and starting to look for an actual home for children and I. Might not be able to buy for another 6-12 months, but I want to see what is out there I can afford and find the neighborhood w/ the right vibe for our family, and won’t fine me for putting a clothesline in my yard or even getting some chickens. Glad you came through Irene okay.

August was full of delays for me, but the weather was nice so I enjoyed “lazy” times anyway. Mercury turned direct on Sat Aug 27th, New Moon on the 28-29th and I got exactly the news I had been waiting for, on the 29th:) also the same day I had appointment somewhere else! New moon = beginning. The uni(multi)verse, is always full of surprises 🙂 Thanks for the insights again 🙂
