Inspiring Enchantment & Illumination with Tarot & Intuitive Guidance

Tarot Card of the Week: Oct. 18-24, 2010

Grab your coat and get your hat
Leave your worries on the doorstep
Life can be so sweet
On the sunny side of the street.

— Dorothy Fields and Jimmy McHugh, 1929

After the rather dismal challenges of last week’s card, I am especially delighted today to tell you that we have a visit this week of the Aries Full Moon from none other than .. the Page of Wands.

Neither as dramatic as the Major Arcana’s big life lessons, nor as pragmatic as the actions, moods, and energies represented in the Pips (Ace through Ten cards), the court cards are the “people cards” for each of the four suits.

All of the Pages are messengers, portraying the innocent side of the suit, pointing to hopefulness, and new beginnings. And what an especially joyous, lighthearted energy the Page of Wands offers!

Whether he is an actual child, or simply the child-like innocence that comes when we truly celebrate life, the sunny Page of Wands is the dancing spark of potential, magic, desire, and daring.  So without further ado, let’s welcome the Page of Wands himself and see what he has to say…

Hey! You, there. Yes, I’m talking to you. And you, too!

When did you turn into such a lumpy, grumpy old grownup?

Lighten up, baby! It’s time to laugh, shout, sing! Get cooking, honey!  Yeah, shake that booty! Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight!

Drop those sad old worry habits you’ve picked up. Boring!  Turn off that pressure cooker you’ve thrown your life into. Loosen up! Unplug yourself from that depressing TV. Wave goodbye to those stifling, annoying people and situations you’ve gotten so entangled with. Are they really so important? You know they’re not!

It’s really very simple. Get outside, take a walk on the sunny side. Take a walk on the wild side! Howl at that big Full Moon coming up!

Get silly. I am your permission slip to duck out the door and go play to your heart’s content. Take a leap of faith! Buy yourself a box of crayons and a big pad of paper and go to town.  Goof around with your kids.  Wear a red rubber nose to the staff meeting.  Don’t be so serious. Life’s too mysterious!

Just for this week, what if you played hooky a little while each day?  And by the way, there is something (or someone) whose passionate, siren call is singing your tune. Answer! Answer with all your heart.

What feeds the flames of your desire? What joyful news have you been longing to hear? Well, guess what!  Now is the time, this is it. The delights you’ve secretly longed for, ached for — they are in your grasp now.

Freedom and creativity are yours. And they are no accident or by someone else’s permission, dearie! They are your most holy and sacred birthright.

Olly, olly oxen free! Come out, come out, wherever you are.  I double-dog dare you!

Life is sweet! Meet me on the sunny side of the street!

LOL! I love the shear joy of this card, and it’s such a relief to see a happy, hopeful card, this week. I am moving tomorrow, and full of anxiousness and worry, but now realize things will be better, if I relax and just go w/ the flow. Thanks Beth Owl.
